Professionally, my focus is balanced between education and spirituality, as the MamaKelli site reflects!  I currently work with Christa McAuliffe Academy, an online k-12 private school based in Washington State that serves students worldwide. I also teach a GED prep. class for adults in Kingston, GA, and I offer services and advice for parents and family-loving folk via MamaKelli.com while publishing everything from international manifestos to simple blog posts that are designed to educate, entertain, and inspire.

Beginning with the turn of 2010, I've been placing more emphasis on spiritual pursuits by actively promoting my oracle card readings and energy work, as well as by collaborating with my friend the medium Brice Elizabeth.  Together Brice and I edit and write the blog Being Brice, collaborate on the upcoming TBS series by the same title, and offer in-depth spiritual guidance and energetic cleansing of people and places via our website TrustUniverse.com, which is currently under development.

Personally, I'm a  North Georgia native who grew up in South Eastern Suburbia, where I experienced the world primarily through my books, my father's old records, and my mother's stories about her work as a nurse. Then, in 9th grade, I began to look at my education at Darlington School as a gateway to the outside world.  I became active as a student leader--editing our literary zine, volunteering for campus human rights groups, representing the school on trips to New Mexico and New York City, and graduating at the top of my class in May 2001.  The collapse of the World Trade Center followed shortly thereafter and marked my undergraduate experience as a time of  social change that paralleled my personal transition from teens to twenties.

I graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor's degree in Magazine Journalism from UGA.  Then, I returned to Shorter College for a certificate to teach, which I earned on May 5, 2007.  Later the same day,  I got married and inherited a two-year-old stepson.  He became a big brother in June 2008 when, after 39 hours and 42 minutes of drug-free labor, I delivered my daughter into my husband's waiting arms.   Currently, I'm pregnant again and expecting my next baby in August 2010, a little Leo!

My family lives in a rural rail town called Kingston, GA, where we're involved in multiple projects related to community building, education, and the arts.  My titles include wife, mother, educator, writer, activist, and entrepreneur.  However, for each, my goals are the same: To encourage the exploration of multiple perspectives and to provide the resources and inspiration needed to discover and live in accordance with our own personal truths.

Thanks for stopping by, and remember to spread the love!
